• LINKS Honors Outgoing Committee Members

Every Wednesday, like clockwork, there are some dedicated McKinney Chamber volunteers who leave their homes at the crack of dawn to support our popular and lively weekly networking meetings we call LINKS.  These exceptional Chamber members take time from their families and their businesses to support one of our premier programs of the Chamber that has been taking place for close to 20 years.

LINKS stands for Learn – Inform – Network – Know – and Share.  Our LINKS Advisory Committee members do all of this and much, much more! Starting at 6:45, committee members set up for our weekly meetings, greet guests, manage all the responsibilities of the networking session and do it all with a smile and a warm welcome.  They manage the moderator duties and introduce anywhere from 85 to over 100 members and guests. Over the course of the 90-minute meeting, they provide each attendee with a 30-second commercial to market their products and services as a way to help our members grow their business.

This fun and lively networking session is more than a marketing tool. It is a way for our members to support each other, learn from each other and make valuable contributions to the vitality and prosperity of McKinney’s small business community. For the past several years, the LINKS sessions have been sponsored by Collin County Bookkeeping and supported by monthly coffee sponsors and weekly breakfast sponsors. Special thanks go out to Gather for hosting our weekly meetings and Biggby Coffee for catering the coffee.

The McKinney Chamber leadership recently honored those LINKS Advisory Committee Members who have gone above and beyond in service to LINKS but who will be rolling off the committee this year. Those dedicated LINKS Advisory Committee members include:

    Payton Brooks                  2004-2017
    Dennis O’Hagen               2009-2017
    Lisa Hammett                   2008-2017
    Andy Bush                        2013-2017
    Barbra Dutton                   2015-2017

The next time you see these dedicated Chamber members, please thank them for sharing their time and talent every Wednesday for many, many years. They have insured that our LINKS Networking program has remained one of the most effective means for our business members to prosper in McKinney.

In 2018, many familiar faces will remain! Kerry Casuto, Pro Marketing LINKS who has been the LINKS Networking Meeting Chair and committee member for many years, will pass the torch to Elizabeth Mahusay, Premier Designs Jewelry.  Elizabeth and her Advisory Team will continue to serve and support our members and help 2018 be another great year for growing your business in McKinney.

On behalf of the McKinney Chamber, we wish all of our members and volunteers Happy Holidays and a Prosperous and Healthy New Year!  We hope our dedicated LINKS Advisory Committee members enjoy a little extra rest until our LINKS meetings resume on January 3rd, 2018!
