Inform, Inspire, Engage!

I'm so excited to be typing the McKinney Chamber's First Blog Post. The Chamber is in the process of getting a complete online makeover - literally. We're in the process of converting our Chamber Website, Overhauling McKinneyOnline.com and starting our blog. My fingers are happily tapping at the keyboard as I envision our blog as a place where we can have "virtual" discussions on topics that affect businesses and our community. I'll be posting periodically as will other members of staff. But we want to hear from you, our Members and contributors, as we talk about issues that are important to you.
 

A couple of things to know about the Chamber's blog:
1. This is a place to communicate with various programs in our Chamber. Those who are involved in WAM, YP, and Leadership McKinney, remember the days where we sent out newsletters (PDF-style by email). Well, those days are gone. We've decided to move to the 21st Century and communicate through our blog. You will notice there are multiple categories that are listed and you can easily sort the blog posts by topics.
 
2. We are here to provide meaningful information whether it's through business tips and strategies or updates on issues we're monitoring that could affect you. The blog will also be used to promote our members and will be part of a multi-faceted marketing strategy. As we perfect our messaging and connect those messages through all of our communication platforms, we hope to keep McKinney and our Members well informed.
 
3. We want to hear from you. Our goal is to make this an interactive forum for discussion. Perhaps the greatest strength the Chamber possesses is it's ability to connect so many people and provide a forum for thoughtful discussion and best practice sharing. So we hope you see this as a virtual meeting space where you can share and contribute. Just remember to keep it nice. Just as much as the Chamber values critical discourse, we also value positive and solution-oriented discussion.
 
So, with that, we are ready to start blogging! On your mark...get set...GO!
