About Leadership McKinney

Leadership McKinney is a nine-month leadership development program of the McKinney Chamber of Commerce.
The program runs from August through May, with full-day sessions (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM) held once per month.
Topics include Government, Economic & Community Development, Ethics, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Healthcare, Regionalism, Education & Workforce, Leadership Training & Decision Making, Conflict Management, and Community Awareness.

The Leadership McKinney program mission is Engaging Leaders today for a Stronger Community tomorrow. This program is based on a curriculum that combines personal leadership training and an awareness of the McKinney community. The educational experience provides participants the opportunity to engage in dialogue with leaders and field-specific experts on relevant community issues.

Since its inception in 1988, over 600 program alumni representing all sectors of our community have strived to put community trusteeship into action by combining inclusiveness, collaborative decision making, personal responsibility and visioning. Based on a curriculum that combines personal leadership skills training and an awareness of the McKinney community, this challenging educational experience provides participants the opportunity to engage in dialogue with leaders and field-specific experts on relevant community issues.
