Statement by the McKinney Chamber on COVID-19 Mandates
McKINNEY, TX (March 10, 2021) - As we approach the one-year mark of navigating life during a global pandemic, the Chamber encourages everyone to respect the difficult decisions businesses have had to make as they continue to operate while keeping their employees and customers safe.
These businesses, who are the backbone of our vibrant economy in McKinney, will continue to face a difficult marketplace while weighing the health factors of many individuals. We urge the public to be respectful of a business owners’ decision in how they choose to operate and comply with any safety protocols they choose to enforce.
As companies seek advice for how to safely conduct business, we recommend business owners follow CDC recommendations and guidelines, OSHA protocols, qualified medical professionals, and potentially your legal counsel.
The McKinney Chamber will continue the practice of wearing masks, until further notice. As we consult with local medical professionals and look to public health experts, the science shows wearing masks are a proven way to slow the spread of COVID-19.
We will continue to support McKinney businesses through various programs and information sharing. The Chamber has great resources on the www.mckinneybacktobusiness.com website.
