• McKinney Texas May 6th City Council Election

    McKinney, Texas held its City Council Election on May 6, 2023. The election included contested races for District 2, District 4, and an At Large seat, with a total of six candidates vying for positions. To be elected to City Council, a candidate must receive a majority of votes in the general election, which means more than 50 percent of the total vote.
     
    In District 2, Patrick Cloutier emerged victorious, according to the unofficial results released by the Collin County Election Administrator. Cloutier defeated Michael Silva to become the new representative for the district. In District 4, the incumbent, Rick Franklin, won the seat uncontested.
     
    For the At Large position, all McKinney voters cast their votes, and Michael Jones was elected as the new representative. Jones won against Tom Meredith and Taiwo Ajunwon, according to the unofficial results.
     
    The Early Voting Ballot Board will process Election Day provisional ballots and late ballots from overseas on May 15, 2023.
