• McKinney holds public input meeting for FY20 budget, launches online survey

McKinney residents and stakeholders are invited to provide feedback as City of McKinney staff prepare the city’s budget for Fiscal Year 2020 (FY20), which runs Oct. 1, 2019 – Sept. 30, 2020.

The public is invited to attend a public input meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, at City Hall, 222 N. Tennessee St. City staff will provide general information on the budget process and then meeting attendees will be asked to share what they would like to see funded in their neighborhoods and the community.

For those who are unable to attend the public input meeting, feedback on the budget can be provided through the Virtual Town Hall online platform where residents will rank McKinney's budget priorities. The online exercise will be live Tuesday, April 16. Residents may also leave comments as a follow-up to the exercise. Feedback provided will be considered during the current FY20 budget discussions as well as in future fiscal years.

The City Council will then consider the recommended budget and the public will have additional opportunities to offer input during two public budget hearings in September. The final budget is scheduled for adoption on Tuesday, Sept. 17.

Get additional information on the city’s budget or take the survey through Friday, June 7.
