As the incoming Chair for the McKinney Young Professionals, I first want to thank our current Chair, Brandon Herbison and all our committee members for their dedication and commitment to the community and MYP. Your efforts in planning meetings and events have been great and your work has impacted McKinney.
As the year draws to a close, I recently found myself looking back at my 2018 goals and even came across goals from previous years. In 2016 I set a goal to get more involved in the community. I found a really great opportunity to do that by joining the McKinney Young Professionals. For two years now the group has added to my life personally and professionally, making connections with some wonderful people in the community I might not have had the opportunity to meet otherwise.
If part of your 2019 plans are to get more involved in the community, expand your network, make a difference, I encourage you to join the McKinney Young Professionals. We have exciting events planned for next year including after-hours events, meetings with elected officials, business tours, civic involvement and professional development opportunities including the Annual Professional Development Summit.
To finish the year strong, plan to join us for our Holiday Ugly Sweater Party at
Landmark Bank on Thursday, December 13 from 5:30 – 7:30 pm. Landmark Bank is graciously sponsoring and hosting the event at their new venue and will include food, drinks, and door prizes We will also be introducing you to the 2019 McKinney Young Professionals’ Advisory Committee.
