Fellow McKinney Young Professionals!
The cold weather has officially arrived and the end of 2017 is quickly approaching. With the fall season here, our annual Professional Development Summit is right around the corner! This half-day, professional development training will be November 16th and is definitely an event you don’t want to miss. We’re excited that Collin College will be hosting the event this year at the Collin Higher Education Center. Each year the Professional Development Summit has grown and it is wonderful this year to be in a setting that has been built to foster learning.
Each month we highlight one of your MYP Advisory Committee members! This month’s highlight is your Immediate Past Chair – Troy Skidmore. Troy’s efforts as a 4-year committee member has always been to ensure our membership is developing themselves professionally, as well as their network. Learn more about Troy below.

Troy Skidmore, Immediate Past ChairEncore Wire CorporationTroy Skidmore is the Director of Technical Operations and Product Engineering at Encore Wire Corporation. His primary roles are to provide oversight to the Human Resources, Training, Safety, Quality Control, and Research and Development departments as well as supporting and sustaining the Encore culture, creating and planning new corporate initiatives, and cutting company turnover and cost in his areas of supervision. Troy credits his achievements in his seven-year tenure to Encore’s culture, his executive team’s mentorship and the team of high moral co-workers around him who work in partnership to Do The Right Thing each day.
Skidmore earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Organizational Leadership and Supervision at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana in 2009. He resides in McKinney with his wife, two dogs and enjoys spending time with family, friends, staying active in his church, working out, and serving the community.Would you like to be a part of the leadership team and serve on the MYP Advisory Committee?
