• Get Involved, Serve on a Chamber Committee

We would not be able to provide the many programs and services without our many valuable volunteers. With a staff of eight full time professionals, our Chamber relies on a dedicated and committed group of volunteers including our Board of Directors and each of our steering committee members to help us plan and execute a variety of innovative, quality programs.

This became even more apparent during the pandemic. It took a concerted effort from all our Board and Committee leadership for us to quickly adapt and innovate and continue to serve our members who needed us now, more than ever!

As we are planning for 2021, it is time to submit nominations for spots available on our various committees. We ask for your understanding as we fill a limited number of spots available for each committee!

Below is a list of the opportunities to consider:

Ambassadors: As the Chamber’s primary liaison to new chamber members, the Ambassadors play an essential role in member communication, charged with conveying member needs, questions, and concerns to Chamber staff. Upon appointment Ambassadors actively promote membership in the Chamber, facilitate networking among members and encourage meaningful participation in Chamber programs, strengthening member commitment, and increasing long-term retention. The program is coordinated by a volunteer leadership committee and the staff of the Member Services sector. Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month beginning at noon.

LINKS Weekly Networking: Are you an early morning person? Love to networking and assist our first timers new to our meeting? We have a dedicated group of committee members always working to keep LINKS as the premier networking event in DFW!

McKinney Restaurant Council:  Created in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, the mission of the MRC is to unify the foodservice sector in McKinney to leverage resources and share operational and strategic best practices. One of the first things the MRC did was adopt the McKinney Promise – something the Texas Restaurant Association came up with. It’s a promise that the restaurants make to their guests – and in turn – a promise that the guests make to the restaurant. Now the MRC is growing and we invite those representing our restaurants, bars, coffee shops, etc to consider serving in a leadership role on this committee!

McKinney Young Professionals: We have a group of community minded young professionals (40 or under) who love to build relationships, grow their careers, and make an impact in our community. New steering committee members are needed to lead MYP each year!

Senior Services Alliance: No- you do NOT have to be a Senior to be on this committee! The Senior Services Alliance is a network of Chamber business professionals focused on being a resource to educate and serve the senior community and their families. Whether the need is immediate or planning for the future, the Senior Services Alliance directly contributes to the Point of Need on the continuum of care and adds to the quality of life and promotes aging in place.

Women’s Alliance of McKinney: The Women's Alliance of McKinney (WAM) works through committees to achieve their vision of empowering, promoting and supporting leadership in women. The committee members are active in bringing together businesswomen through quarterly lunch and learns, an annual conference in September and casual networking events throughout the year.
