• Ambassador Spotlight - Steve Hubbard

Hello. I am Steve Hubbard and I am honored to be in the spotlight for the November issue of the McKinney Chamber Newsletter.

After retiring in 1997, I returned to the workforce in 2010 and became a Realtor with Keller Williams Realty, N Collin County.  My wife, Ann, joined me in 2012 and we have been blessed with serving clients in Collin County and all adjacent ones!  We continue today providing our knowledge and skills in residential real estate to renters, buyers, sellers, and investors.

Before that, my career was in the hotel business, associated with Marriott Hotels & Resorts (Washington, D.C.), and Red Lion Hotels & Inns (Vancouver, WA).  These corporate experiences presented me with fantastic opportunities to create policies, systems and programs that enabled incredible growth in both organizations.  I am especially grateful to have been with Mr. Bill Marriott when he charged us all to be recognized as the largest and best hotel company in the business in ten years—and we did it!!  Meanwhile, Ann’s career was devoted to a far more important endeavor--the raising of our two children, Christopher and Louise.  She excelled!!

I have been an Ambassador for the McKinney Chamber of Commerce for nine years and cherish my activities as an introduction to small and large businesses to our city.  I am passionate about the growth of our community with new business and feel privileged to give back to a city that has enabled me to return to an involved citizen in a vigorous, engaging environment.  And I feel blessed to be doing that with others who feel the same!  We have fun!!  Anyone reading this article, call me so I can buy you coffee and talk about the involvement you can enjoy with our chamber!

Besides being an Ambassador, I have been a LINKS member for nine years.  I am involved with First United Methodist Church of McKinney and the Canafax Sunday School Class there.  Also, I am a VP of the McKinney Community Concerts Association, bringing six national/international music groups each year to perform for area residents.  And, I have saved the best for last--I am “Gapa” to my three, wonderful grandchildren of our terrific daughter and son-in-law.

Thank you for this opportunity to share a little about me.  Now… about you----------
