How you have benefited from being an Ambassador
After graduating from the Texas Tech University Rawls College of Business in 2015, my first job in the workforce was serving as the Information Specialist for the McKinney Chamber of Commerce. During this time, I made great relationships and fell in love with the chamber’s mission. Joining the Ambassador Program was the perfect way for me to continue serving the chamber and our business community, while also pursing my professional career as a financial advisor. Through investing my time and resources into the Ambassador Program, I’m able to reap the benefits of giving back to my community while building strong relationships that support my business in return.

Tell us about your involvement in the Community?
I’m unbelievably honored to be nominated as a top three finalist for 2021 Volunteer McKinney’s Spirit of McKinney “Volunteer of the Year” award. I am currently serving as the Chair Elect for the McKinney Chamber Ambassadors and the Civic Duties At-Large Chair for McKinney Young Professionals. I am a recent graduate of the Leadership McKinney Class of 2020, and I had the privilege of managing the marketing and public relations for 2019 Relay for Life of McKinney.

    What are your hobbies?
My hobbies include playing pickleball with my husband, making chalk-board art, and snuggling up with my corgi chihuahua rescue pup, Shrimpy.

Tell us a bit about yourself and your family
My family moved to McKinney, Texas when I was only three years old. In 2010, I graduated from McKinney High School and went on to purse a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Marketing from Texas Tech University. During my time as an undergraduate, I was involved in numerous organizations, including Vice President of my sorority, Zeta Tau Alpha; Ambassador for the Rawls College of Business and Chancelor Kent Hance; President of Mortar Board, an organization consisting of the top 50 seniors at Texas Tech; and was nominated for 2014 the Homecoming Queen Court.

In the summer of 2012, I met my husband, Tyler Underwood, during Red Raider Orientation. Tyler and I got married in May 2018. He is currently serving as the General Counsel for McKinney East. In March of 2021, my husband and I purchased our first home in the historic district of McKinney.
