    Tell us about your business.
Founded in 1999, Housewarmers connects local businesses with new residents through our personally delivered welcome gift bags. We greet new residents at their front door with our signature red gift bag of welcome treats, special offers from sponsor businesses and community information.  We discuss the contents of the bag, including a community guide listing all of our sponsors’ information, and ask if there is anything we can do to help them.  Housewarmers personally reaches a market segment that is new to the community and therefore looking for a myriad of services: doctors, home repair, lawn care, children's services, recreation, restaurants, etc.  Our sponsors appreciate being the only business in their industry advertised in the bag. We continue to serve the residents and our sponsor businesses by publishing a newsletter making them aware of events in the community and special offers.  Additionally, we maintain a website with links to our sponsor businesses’ websites, which is a valuable resource for residents.

How you have benefited from being an Ambassador?
Honestly, I love ribbon cuttings. Being able to get to know the new owners of their new business. Hearing what influenced them to start their business, maybe get to know the meaning behind the name, the history, etc. I love everything about it.

Tell us about your involvement in the Community?
“Community is our Business” that’s our companies’ slogan. Our passion is to reach out to the new residents and connecting them with local businesses, let them know places they can volunteer, where the parks are located, what amenities we have, etc. Personally, our family has been involved with feeding the homeless, packing meals with churches

    What are your hobbies?
Other than work?  Most of my extra time is spent with my family watching movies, working in the yard. I try to read a book once a month and love to travel and visit family in California.

Tell us a bit about yourself and your family.
I was born and raised in the Sacramento valley of California. I have always had a love for animals and had pets from dogs, bunnies, birds and even reptiles. Believe it or not, I met my husband on my doorstep just after I turned 21. I owned a condo and he was there to apply for the room I had for rent. Let’s just say he never moved out. Five years later we married, fast forward 22 years we have 3 daughters: Kiara who is on her 3rd year at UT Austin, Haley – senior at PHS and Julia – Freshman at PHS.
