• Ambassador Spotlight - Gwen O'Connor

What is the name of your business and where are you located?
My business is called Quality Personnel Service aka TDY Employment Group Inc. Fun Fact – TDY stands for Temporary Duty Yonder , and it is located at 2730 Virginia Parkway, Suite 100 McKinney TX 75071

Give us a brief description of your business.
We are a full-service staffing agency that provides Short Term Temporary, Temp to Hire, Executive Search and Payrolling Service for companies that may not wish to be an employer of record. Quality Personnel Service has been in business since 1986. I purchased it from Linda James who retired in September of 2017. During my ownership, we have implemented many technology upgrades and continue to build on the strong foundation of our long-standing service to the Businesses and Residents of our Community.

    Why are you an Ambassador?
I can’t say enough great things about being an Ambassador. In my previous business, I was not hooked into the Local Community and this has been an outstanding way to connect with my clients, meet new ones and welcome those that are opening and could use the support from within their community and other small business owners.

Tell us about your involvement in the community?
My biggest involvement has been with my Hobby – The Dallas Koi Kichi Club, which is a non-profit. We provide guidance and advice and sometimes comfort along with being part of the ‘Rescue Squad’. We have been called out to many Pond Emergencies in all sorts of crazy weather to help a Pond Owner save their ‘finned friends’. We also put on one of the Nation’s largest Koi Shows annually which takes a year of dedication to pull off!

    What are your hobbies?
Gardening, Ponding, Koi Keeping and Goldfish Keeping.

Can you share a little about yourself and your family?
I am married to Rich O’Connor and we will celebrate our 19th Wedding Anniversary in a few months. We have two fantastic boys –ages 12 and 16. We relocated from Dubai to McKinney in 2012 and absolutely love living here. We have 10 Koi, 2 Goldfish, and 2 Bulldogs, named Mack and Jackie. (And yes, the fish do have names too!)
