Tell us about your businessThe Texas Veterans Network (TVN) is a statewide collaborative of veteran-serving community-based organizations and government agencies that holistically serve the veteran and military community powered by Combined Arms. The Texas Veterans Network (TVN) serves Active Duty, Reservists, National Guard, Veterans from all service eras, and their family members. The North Texas region is made possible by a partnership between United Way of Tarrant County and Combined Arms, complete with a coordination center comprised of a military cultural competent intake team. North Texas is home to approximately 386,358 veterans, making up roughly 1.8% of the national veteran population. With 45 partner organizations in North Texas, we have been able to serve over 3,000 veterans since the Texas Veterans Network launched in April 2020. If you are in need of immediate resources, or know of a veteran in need of resources, please visit http://texasveterans.network/ to learn more and get connected. You may also call 888-737-3112 and speak to an intake team member.

How have you benefited from being an Ambassador- or comment about your experience - Why are you an Ambassador?: As an Ambassador I’ve benefited in many ways from getting to know our local and state elected officials, learning how McKinney has grown and the different new businesses that are opening in the area. The reason why I like being an Ambassador is that I’m always meeting new people and making new friends/contacts especially when it comes to fellow law enforcement, military veterans and their families.

Tell us about your involvement in the community: I’ve been involved in the McKinney community by volunteering with the Crape Myrtle Run & Festival, Shop with A Cop sponsored by the McKinney MPAFOP Lodge #107, Wreaths Across  America and Patriot Day 9/11 Day of remembrance.

What are your hobbies? : Playing golf, going to the gym and floating around in my pool while staring at the sky.

Tell us a little about you and your family: I was born in Colombia, South America. My parents immigrated to the United States in 1978 and settled in the borough of Queens, NY. After graduating from high school I served in the US Army as a medic. After transitioning out of the military, I joined the New York City Police Department in 1992 and retired as a Sergeant after 21 years of service. On September 11, 2001 I was one of many New York City police officers who responded to the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center, spending over 400 hours at Ground Zero for rescue
and search operations. Following my retirement , I relocated to McKinney, Texas in 2012 and was offered a staff position with a veteran service organization supporting and serving veterans in my community. I have accomplished all of this with my wife by my side for the last 29 years. We have two beautiful children, my daughter, 18 years old, currently a freshman at Texas State andmy son, 17 years old, currently a Junior at McKinney North.
