Ambassador Spotlight - Clint Scofield
What is the name of your business and where are you located?
My business is called LegalShield, and it is located at 1101 Hill St., McKinney, Tx. 75069
Give us a brief description of your business.
I have been a LegalShield Director since 2001. I began my business working one-on-one with individuals, moving in later years to Corporate HR Directors along with their employees and, currently, working with Benefit Brokers who provide our voluntary, ancillary benefits to their corporate clients’ employees. Our LegalShield and IDShield benefits are one of a kind and provide quick, affordable, comprehensive services to resolve today’s everyday issues for individuals, families, and businesses.
Why are you an Ambassador?
I have been a McKinney Chamber member since 2002 and an Ambassador for at least the past decade. The Ambassador program has enabled me to more comprehensively network with other Chamber members. Moreover, being an Ambassador has expanded my horizons as an entrepreneur with the McKinney business community providing me with new concepts and ideas to maximize my LegalShield’s business plan.
Tell us about your involvement in the community?
In addition to the Chamber, I have served on the City’s Historic Advisory Preservation Board, Collin County’s property tax Appraisal Review Board, and I continue to mentor students as part of the MISD’s Mentor Reach Program. I recently have begun to participate in Collin County’s Meals-on-Wheels food deliveries. Finally, I have been an active participant, in various roles, at McKinney’s First United Methodist Church.
What are your hobbies?
Skiing, golf, reading, extensive traveling, a cappella singing
Can you share a little about yourself and your family?
I spent the first forty years of my life on the East Coast…..thirty miles northwest of New York City. Our Family moved with Corporate JCPenney to Plano in 1987. Most of my Penney career was focused on fine jewelry wholesale procurement for all of our JCPenney stores across the Country. We first visited McKinney in 1988, traveling on 121’s two-lane road, and knew then that we, at some point, would move to McKinney’s historic district which finally happened in 2003. We have two boys, one whom had passed away in 2000. Our other Son is a Plano Firefighter and lives in McKinney, about ½ mile away from us. My wife is now retired though spent many years teaching dental hygiene at Quad C and later at Baylor College of Dentistry in downtown Dallas.
