I hope everyone has taken some time to relax, maybe take a trip or just enjoy some great memories with family and friends. Our Leadership McKinney Alumni Committee has taken the summer months to do just that. We made memories together at our Leadership McKinney Alumni lunch meet up at Pepe’s a couple of weeks ago. We had about 25 alumni come and share lunch together. This is just a fun way to reconnect and make new connections with fellow alumni. Keep an eye out for an invitation to the next lunch meet-up.
The Leadership McKinney Alumni Committee has also spent the last two months finalizing plans for the rest of the year. I am personally excited about the content and events planned for the months ahead, and I want to give you a quick glimpse of what’s in store for you:
First and probably, most importantly, we have selected all the members of our Leadership McKinney 2020 class! We had a ton of applications this year, conducted all the interviews and had a grueling selection meeting to put together what we believe may be…the best class yet. We will see! We are excited for all 30 class members who will go through the program this year and cannot wait to see them roll into our alumni group next year. Do you want to know who made the cut? Grab your classmates and come out and help us welcome the new class at The Body Shop Collision Repair, Thursday, August 8 at 6:00 p.m. This is the first night they all meet each other, and we want to kick off the year with a party. So grab your classmates and come out and join us!

- September 11 – 9/11 Memorial Service @ Collin College Conference Center, Central Park Campus
- September 17 – After Hours event with the McKinney Young Professionals
- September 24 – Breakfast with the Mayor @ the McKinney Chamber of Commerce
- October 24 – Professional Development Summit @ the Collin Higher Education Center
You will also see some more communication and content hitting your inbox over the next few weeks and months. We are excited about all our alumni group is doing, and we are so thankful each of you are with us to make our community a better place.
