• Welcome the new and recognize the past

In case you missed the campaign signs, direct mail, and social media posts - the City of McKinney, McKinney ISD, and the Collin College Board of Trustees held their elections in May and subsequent runoff elections in June for several seats.

The Chamber would like to welcome the newly elected officials and show our appreciation to those who are rolling off of their positions in those respective organizations. We'll be hosting a Hail & Farewell June 27th from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Holiday Inn & Suites. For more information and to register for this event click here

    City of McKinney
We thank the following people who have served our City, as they make decisions that impact the lives of our citizens. Because of their leadership we are able to enjoy living and working in one of the greatest communities in the world.
    Former Mayor Brian Loughmiller
    Mayor Pro-tem Travis Ussery
Councilmember and former Mayor Protem Randy Pogue
    Councilmember Don Day

The Chamber is also excited to welcome the following people who will be building on the great work by former councils and leading us into a bright future.
    Mayor George Fuller
    Councilmember Charlie Phillips
    Councilmember La'Shadion Shemwell
    Councilmember Scott Elliott

    McKinney ISD
Two seats were up for grabs on the McKinney ISD Board of Directors. Incumbent Curtis Rippee won re-election to his seat and former school board member Bobby Amick, who chose not to run again, left a spot open for a new face to the school board. Kenneth Ussery won that seat and will begin his service to the community. We look forward to working with these school board members and the leadership at MISD as they lead the district and make decisions that impact the education for our children and future workforce.
