“Deck the Halls for Dickens” Brings the Community Together to Support a McKinney Family Tradition
Mother Nature's rain has given McKinney residents an opportunity to shine. Oktoberfest, the biggest fundraiser supporting the annual Dickens of a Christmas event costs, was rained out and therefore did not draw the expected attendance and support from citizens and visitors. McKinney Main Street is inviting the community to come together to help bolster one of McKinney’s community traditions held each year over Thanksgiving weekend in Historic Downtown McKinney .
The McKinney Main Street Board of Directors invites you to “Deck the Halls for Dickens.” The event will be held on Thursday, October 25th from 6 - 9 p.m. at the McKinney Performing Arts Center at 111 N. Tennessee Street in Historic Downtown McKinney. The event will feature food, drink, music and merriment. Live entertainment will be provided by Austin Cunningham, the Buster Brown Band and the Maylee Thomas Band – all of whom have contributed their time and talent to support Dickens and bring this fundraising event to fruition.
Holiday Wreath Raffle and Auction
The event will showcase donated wreaths from and by the community and will be raffled and auctioned at the event in support of the effort. Community members and local businesses are invited to display their support and artistic talents by donating a wreath to the event. Sponsorships and in-kind contributions are also being sought to support this old fashioned community barn raising style event.

Residents, merchants, musicians and artists alike are answering the call to come together and support Dickens of a Christmas at this special fundraising event. All members of the community including business and the general public are invited to join us in this fundraiser and celebration of a community that is truly, "Unique by nature".
For tickets and sponsorship information please call 972-542-0163 or email Jodi@mckinneychamber.com. Tickets are $25 each and can be purchased over the phone or in person at the McKinney Chamber of Commerce office located at 2150 S. Central Expressway in McKinney.
All proceeds benefit McKinney Main Street and will be directed towards Dickens of a Christmas event costs. Dickens of a Christmas is a more than 30-year McKinney tradition that runs the Friday after Thanksgiving through the weekend, and is a family-friendly event with no admission fee to the public.

McKinney Main Street is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, therefore your donation is tax-deductible to the full extent of the law. We will provide you a receipt for your contribution.
