Collin College Adds New Field of Study |

A new field of study was approved by the Collin College Board of Trustees recently. This opportunity will be available this fall semester, which begins Monday, Aug. 27.
Meetings and Event Management The Institute of Hospitality and Culinary Education located at the Preston Ridge Campus is offering this new associate of applied science degree totaling 64 hours that compliments the Meetings and Event Management certification program that the college has offered for five years.
Among the new courses included in the associate degree in Meetings and Event Management are “International Meetings and Conventions,” “Group Tour Operations” and a required internship (cooperative work experience). Students who earn an associate degree in Meetings and Event Management can obtain positions at hotels in sales or convention services or work with the social, military, educational, religious and fraternal (SMERF) market.

Registration at Collin College is available by logging into CougarWeb at the college’s website or http://cougarweb.collin.edu/. Then go to the "Registration Tools" channel on the home tab. For help logging into the portal, call the Student Help Desk at 972.377.1777. A username and password are required in order to register online.
Through CougarWeb, online registration is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week unless otherwise noted. Students can also view the latest version of the e-schedule outside of the portal at www.collin.edu/academics/class_schedule.html. However, they will not be able to register until they log into CougarWeb.
The college accepts VISA, MasterCard or Discover credit cards online. Personal checks are accepted in person or over the web using the college’s secure Webcheck program.
