On Wednesday, Aug. 15, the McKinney Chamber of Commerce will welcome 225 new teachers and administrators to the McKinney Independent School District. The event will be held at McKinney Boyd High School from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m.; doors open at 7 a.m. A full breakfast will be served.

Aside from welcoming our new teachers and administrators, we will recognize the principals and teachers of the year. Curtis Rippee, President of the McKinney ISD Board of Trustees, and Dr. J.D. Kennedy, Superintendent, will inform attendees about things to come in the new school year. MISD students will have a special opening surprise not to be missed.

This year, the event theme is Superheroes, which recognizes the fact that teachers are heroes to many children. Working with their students every day, teachers have the ability to make a positive impact and shape their students for the future.

Just $35 buys breakfast for yourself and a teacher. We still have more than 50 teachers who need to be sponsored.
