Mayor Loughmiller Honored with Leadership Award at Quarterly Luncheon

On June 9, 2011, Mayor Brian Loughmiller was honored by the Association of Leadership Professionals with the Distinguished Leadership Award. Nominated by the McKinney Chamber, he was presented with his award at the Chamber’s quarterly luncheon this month at Eldorado Country Club. Mayor Loughmiller joins 18 other recipients from across the nation.
This award is designed to recognize exceptional community leadership program graduates. Recipients have made significant and notable contributions for the betterment of their communities, and they exemplify the spirit and goals for civic engagement and trusteeship.
Mayor Loughmiller graduated from Leadership McKinney in 1999 and was elected as our Mayor in 2009. He works diligently to enhance McKinney’s quality of life so its citizens can feel a unique sense of place, and his leadership style has continued to evolve as open, inclusive and objective. His specific efforts and outreach have increased collaboration and positive impacts for not only our community but for the region as a whole. His long-term vision is positioning McKinney – one of the fastest-growing
cities in America – to become a world class innovation global community.
