General Information
Leadership McKinney offers a challenging educational experience designed to develop an awareness of the McKinney community and its relationship with the Metroplex, and to provide personal leadership training. At the conclusion of the program, participants will be better prepared to seek leadership roles in business and in the community. Eligibility Candidates must live and/or work in McKinney or its incorporated extraterritorial jurisdiction.
Attendance is expected at all sessions. The overnight retreat in August is mandatory – if an applicant cannot attend the retreat they cannot participate in the program. Classes meet the first Thursday of each month (with a few noted exceptions – see application), September through May, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Candidates must be willing to commit to these time requirements.
If applicable, it is important that the applicant’s employer is committed to allowing the prospective class member the time off necessary to complete the graduation requirements.
