Medical Center of McKinney (MCM) is a growing 260-bed hospital with a 90-year history of serving the health care needs of McKinney and the surrounding communities. Over the past several years, MCM has strengthened its medical foundations by adding two new surgical robots, newly remodeled labor and delivery suites, a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and an advanced biplane catherization (cath) lab to treat heart rhythm disorders. MCM was named one of the nation’s Top Performers on Key Quality Measures by The Joint Commission, the leading accreditor of health care organizations in America.
Walmart Stores, Inc., is the world’s largest retailer and is committed to contributing to the welfare of McKinney, as it does in all communities in which it is located. Walmart currently operates three Supercenters in McKinney. The first Supercenter, which opened in April 2004, is located at 5001 McKinney Ranch
Parkway. The original store that opened in 1978 and converted to a Supercenter in 2005 is Walmart’s experimental Supercenter containing 26 environmentally sustainable experiments that could profoundly change the way the retail industry designs, constructs and manages facilities as they relate to the environment. The newest addition is a Supercenter located at 1721 N. Custer Road which opened in January 2007.
