• McKinney launches new system to streamline development processes

The following is a press release from the City of McKinney.

The City of McKinney has launched a new land management software system called EnerGov by Tyler Technologies. This software package streamlines processes for developers, improves data quality and increases public access to information from the Development Services Division.

The new system allows city inspectors, code enforcement officers and other land use officials to update and access data in the field, ultimately providing timely and relevant data to assist management in making better decisions. Community members also benefit from the new system with the ability to access the new public-facing portal called Citizen Self Service (CSS) from a computer, tablet, or smart phone. CSS offers functions to apply for permits, request inspections, create new development cases and view real-time data on projects.

“The enhanced features offered by EnerGov will be used by many departments within the city to automate processes and procedures that are currently managed manually thereby allowing us to operate more efficiently. EnerGov will also offer up new, easy ways for the public to access development plans and other relevant construction information that’s submitted to the city for action. Simply stated, this software package will save our development partners time and money while simultaneously offering new levels of transparency for our citizens,” said Michael Quint, Executive Director of Development Services.
